Saved to Serve!

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men." Matthew 5:13
ehrmmm...wow, wow, wow! And now I have to confess my spirit of pride. Despite how things are going, I am still saved to serve. And people around us are in need, and perhaps that is exactly why God has placed us in a specific place, at a specific time for a specific purpose. Even when it may be a little uncomfortable and not according to our plans. We are here, currently to meet specific needs until God reveals His Masterplan. And I need to unwind, '...be still...and know that I'm God...' as Godfrey Birtill sings. Because God is doing the miracle even if it feels as if we are just dawdling along.
I am reading the 'Canvas of Love...Reflection on a Rembrandt' by Henri J. M. Nouwen which is about the Parable of the Lost Son (Luke 15: 11-32)...and I know that God is the place of complete surrender and complete trust. (paraphrased from the German...)
It is raining and pouring today, I cannot go out...and I must confess that I would rather have hiked the Harkerville Trail this weekend with Wessel, Dawi, Amore, Adri, Natalie, Kelvin and others...but now I have time to be still...and wait...
